Memebox (referral link) is a non-subscription Korean beauty and makeup box that contains full sized and deluxe products. They have single purchase items as well as a wide variety of mystery boxes. Boxes sell out fast so you have to jump on them while you can. Prices vary and they often have deals when you buy multiple boxes.
This was my first time buying a Memebox after hearing about them for quite some time. I was always tempted and it was “Memebox Special #16 OMG Box” that got me to take the jump. They describe this box as:
“Our O.M.G. Box will literally make you go “Huh?” “Hmmm…Cool!” because we’ve loaded this box up with weirdly awesome, yet effective beauty treasures that will work miracles for your hair, skin and body! If you’re a daring beauty enthusiast or beautyholic that is open to trying bizarre new trends, we dare you to take this beauty challenge!”
Can you see why I was intrigued?
The first impression of the box was a good one, it looked like a lot of interesting products, and I appreciated that items were packaged well. Considering it came from Korea, this box travelled very well.
Ladykin Aqua Exfoliator For Body (Full size, 150 ml, $14)–This product is a gentle exfoliator that is enriched with cellulose components from papaya and pineapple extracts. It removes all dead skin cells and impurities without having to “scrub down.” All you do is spray this all over your body and then roll away the dead skin cells with your hands. You are supposed to use it after towelling off after a shower. I tested this out on my hand and it really seemed to do the trick. I let it sit on my hand for a couple of minutes, and then rubbed. There was definitely dead skin cells coming off, and my hand felt very smooth afterwards. I look forward to using this more.
Skinaz Premium Vitablet (Full size, 39g, $46)–This is a tablet form of a vitamin cleanser rich in vitamin C and aroma oil. The way it works is you drop one tablet into a bowl of water and then gently rinse your face with the water. It can be used either daily or 2-3 times a week. It can also be used as a facial mist or for a hair or bath. I haven’t used this yet as I don’t have a bowl handy by the sink when I’m getting ready. I may use them at some point in a bath if I ever get around to having a bath. I think I may need to schedule more pamper days when I can use products like this, and some of my hair treatments.
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask (Full size, 100g, $46)–This is a facial mask with pore care and it also cleanses. It has green tea extracts, pomegranate extracts and charcoal extracts. You spread this mask over an un-cleansed, un-wet face. You leave it for about 5 minutes until it starts to bubble and then massage it onto your face with wet hands for deep cleansing effects, rinsing off with warm water. The carbonated water deeply penetrates into your pores getting out all the gunk. I was really excited to try this out and it was an interesting experience. It’s almost a rubbery consistency when you spread it on your face. It very quickly starts to bubble and creates a foam type consistency. After rubbing it into my skin a bit I rinsed it off. The top layer came off very easily and under the bubbles was still a bit of the mask in its original form. My face felt extremely smooth and clean after using this. I definitely plan on continuing use, and this will likely jump ahead of all the other similar products I need to try yet.
Pure Smile 3step Bust Pack (full size, 1 set, $6)–This packet contains a quick, 3 step process for taking care of your bust. Yup, this product actually exists. The gommage, hydro-gel pack, and cream are all enriched with various nutritious ingredients for keeping the skin on your bust soft and well-moisturized. You start by removing dead skin cells with the gommage by massaging it in. Then you spread on the hydro-gel pack and remove it after 10-15 minutes. The pack can even be used while you are wearing a shirt! The third cream is then applied generously over your bust and massaged in for full absorbance. I don’t even know what to say about this product. Personally, I never really thought about my “bust” needing any special treatment from the rest of my body. I think for now this is going to be kept in the package, I may use it one day, or I may just use it as an awkward gift for someone!
Skinaz The Kissable 24H Lip Tattoo (Full size, 13g, $18). This is the “ultimate no-makeup makeup.” The way it works is you apply the product thickly over your lips, wait 10-15 minutes (or until dry) and then removed the dried product. The colour is left behind and will stay for about 24 hours. I tried this out on my hand and it definitely works, and the tinge stayed for at least a day, and that’s even with washing my hands. The only issue? It’s orange. I don’t know when I will ever want to have orange lips for an entire day.
Hope Girl Night Diva Gloss (full size, 6g, $22)–This lip gloss has two different shades gradated together in one product. It is a non-sticky smooth spreading gloss and keeps your lips moist. The best part about this? On the side of the container it has a mirror, and on the applicator, it has an LED light! I LOVE this product. It’s completely genius. How many times does a girl want to apply lip gloss but doesn’t have a mirror to help with the application? Now that’s not a concern! And if I’m in a dark area, I can still easily apply! Genius!
I was super happy with my first Memebox. It wasn’t quite as “OMG” as I expected from a Korean beauty box, but I loved it. There are a few products I’m unsure about, but the ones I love make it more than worth it. I also love that each product has its own unique benefits. I also only paid $29 plus $6.99 shipping for this box. The value is definitely there. I will definitely be buying more boxes in the future (in fact I have a few more coming!).
