Little Life Box is a Canadian subscription box. It features up to a 8-12 healthy alternative samples. The cost is $19 a month plus $8 shipping within Canada. They have two options: original, which features a mix of healthy alternative products that include Gluten Free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Organic etc, and Vegan which will consist of only vegan items.
Gourmet Melange Dried Fruit & Nuts–These contains a mix of cranberries, raspberries, blueberries, roasted almonds, coconut, dried apples and Himalayan Pink Salt. This is a good mix and is a great “grab it and go” type of snack. Why must all of these contain cranberries though? And coconut? I’ll be thrilled the day I find a good mix without those. Ian will definitely eat (and enjoy) this mix though.
Jasmine Green Tea–This is made from Jasmine flowers from a small farm in Jiangsi province which is located at more than two thousand meters altitude. It’s a fair trade and organic tea. I don’t drink tea at all, and Ian doesn’t like green tea. I gave this to my parents and hopefully they enjoy it!
Bath Bomb–This is a handmade bath bomb and it has rose petals inside of it. I don’t take baths (because our tub needs to be fixed so that the plug actually plugs) but I’m also not a huge fan of the rose scent. I’ll likely put this into my gifting box, I know a few people who enjoy this type of thing!
Roasted Chickpeas Maple–This was my second bag of these this month from subscription boxes. I also received a lightly salted flavor from another company. The lightly salted isn’t bad and was my first time trying chickpeas, I haven’t tried these maple ones yet. I’m planning on saving this for when we go camping in a couple of weeks.
Cruchy Rob’s Brazilian Coconut Popcorn–This is air popped gluten free popcorn. I probably won’t eat this just because of the coconut flavor. I really have tried to like coconut, I just can’t do it. This brand does also have some cheddar and Himalayan pink salt flavors that sound pretty good though, I might have to keep my eye out for them! These are kosher, non-GMO, rich in antioxidants and have zero trans fats.
Simply Protein Bar–This bar is low glygemic, gluten free, kosher, a good source of iron, vegan and it’s made in Canada! These bars keep you satisfied for over three hours. I love lemon, but again with the coconut! I’ve had chips from this company before, a tomato ketchup flavor, and they were really good. I’m also interested in finding and checking out some of their other bars, they have a chocolate caramel flavor, peanut butter chocolate and cocoa raspberry. Those sound pretty tasty!
Clif Trail Mix Bar–This is a dark chocolate cherry almond bar. It’s GMO-free, gluten free and organic. I wish some of these bars came with milk chocolate! Though I suppose it wouldn’t be as healthy then.
Seabuckthorn Sunburn Balm–The lavender oil in this balm has soothing effects and the seabuckthorn and fruit oils have healing properties. This doesn’t have TOO overwhelming of a lavender scent and it will definitely be handy. I’ll definitely be bringing this along camping because that’s a lot of time spent outside in the sun and that usually leads to the inevitable sunburn.
Beekeeper’s Naturals Throat Relief–This is an all natural spray and a great source of antioxidants to help soothe your sore throat. It’s good for colds & flus, stamina & energy, canker sores and gum health. Propolis is a substance that bees make to protect their hive and keep it germ free. It’s also been used for centuries as a herbal medicine to help with sore throats and mouth infections. This spray uses all Canadian propolis and is harvested by hand. It’s gluten, dairy and alcohol free and has no added sugar. It has quite a strong (and not super pleasant) scent so I was a bit nervous to try it. I definitely think I will use this any time I have a sore throat though.
Pur Mints–These are seriously EVERYWHERE right now. I’ve been getting so many packets of mints and gum from this brand. I’m not necessarily complaining because they do taste good. They are sugar free and contain no aspartame. I really like that the bag is resealable. They also included a coupon for $10 off the online store. Shipping is $9 which is holding me back right now, Mojito Lime and Pomegranate mints are definitely tempting. Perhaps I should start using what I already have though.
Lavender Relaxing Body Oil–This relaxing oil is a mix of lavender, almond and sesame oil. It soothes and calms by helping to reduce tension and harmonize the mind. Scented oils are definitely gaining popularity more and more, and I don’t doubt that they work. I’m really not a huge fan of the scent of lavender, and this is quite strong. I’m sure it works great, but I’ll stick to my citrus scented lotions!
There was a good mix this month of healthy snacks and healthy living items. I do wish it wasn’t so heavy on the coconut, but that’s pretty much my only complaint. I think I’m most excited for the chickpeas and sunburn salve because those will be great for the upcoming holiday/camping trip!
