Little Life Box April 2016

Little Life Box is a Canadian subscription box. It features up to a 8-12 healthy alternative samples. The cost is $19 a month plus $8 shipping within Canada. They have two options: original, which features a mix of healthy alternative products that include Gluten Free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Organic etc, and Vegan which will consist of only vegan items.

I really love opening this box and seeing some big bags of snacks. This is why I want to get a box like this, so that I can get some healthy treats and snacks and find some new products. I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what else was in there!

The Goods

Hula Coconut Chips–These coconut chips are lightly flavored with sea salt & pepper. They actually recommend that you can add these to your smoothies or use in your favorite dish. I’m a bit turned off from that idea, the bag does portray them as chips you can eat on their own though. At first I was pretty disgusted because at first look I thought the name was something about prawns, and the picture isn’t the most appetizing to begin with. I do like the sea salt & pepper flavor, but I’m not a fan of coconut. I’m going to need some time before I decide if I’m eating these.

Quinoa Chips Cheddar–These have no added preservatives, no trans fat, no artificial colors or flavors, gluten free and only uses clean ingredients. I haven’t ever had quinoa so I’m excited to try these chips. Plus, cheddar. Cheddar is always a good thing.

Mrs. Crimble’s Cheese Crackers–I had a product from this company last time and really liked the crackers. The difference is that they were cheddar flavored. As I said above, cheddar is always a good thing. Now we bring in a flavor like Rosemary and onion. This is not a good thing. I’m sure Ian will enjoy these though so these will be going to him. Edit: he has tried them and gave them a thumbs up!

ReLeaf Naturals Pain Therapy–This is a topical stick that helps relieve arthritis, sore muscles, back ache, sprains, bruises and joint pain. It contains a holistic blend of essential oils, natural butters and natural waxes. I’m very excited about this. With how often I go to the gym sore muscles have become a normal thing. I’m also going to be starting a 6 week session of Aerial Hoop at the end of the month which I know will use some new/different muscles. I also often have bruises. This stick is going to get a ton of use, let’s just hope it works!

Go Pure Bar–The flavor of this is raspberry and vanilla and is made with real chocolate. I’m not much of a “fruit in my bar” kind of person plus it is a granola bar and granola often gives me nasty stomach pains. I might have to pass this on, though it would have been good to try it! Update on this, Ian has eaten it and it was another item that got a thumbs up from him!

M’Nonga D’Amour Soap–This is a handmade, vegan and natural soap bar. I have no idea how to describe the smell but it’s quite strong and flowery. Definitely not my kind of scent. The packaging is really pretty though!

BKIND Shea Butter Moisturizing Balm–This is a hand cream that is rosemary lemon scented. The lemon seems to be the stronger of the scents so I quite like that. It’s a surprisingly nice combination.

Milk Thistle–Milk thistle is great to help repair damage to the liver, especially after a night of drinking. It’s also traditionally used to treat liver disorders, spleen and gall bladder hepatic, splenic or renal congestion, gallstones, hepatic pain and swelling. Not going to lie, I don’t know what half of that means. I’m not much of a drinker though, in fact I do it very rarely, so I’m not very concerned about liver damage. I also don’t have any spleen or gall bladder issues. I’m going to do some research to see if this is good for you in other areas as well, but at this moment I’m not feeling overly inclined to use it.

Pur gum–This gum is aspartame free, sugar free and gluten free. I’m not much of a gum person and actually got a package of this in a box last month. I do find that it’s nice to have on hand for those occasion that you just really need something. Peppermint is a great flavor too.

Clif Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Raspberry–This is another bar I will be unable to eat. I just can’t handle the bitterness of dark chocolate but the pomegranate raspberry part sounds quite delicious!

Final Thoughts

I do love this box. I like that has supplied me some new products to try. I’m most excited for the Quina chips and the hand cream is great! The products that I wasn’t excited about were items that Ian would like for himself so that’s a good thing, it’s nice when he gets excited for the boxes too! I look forward to seeing what I get next month.
