The minute I opened this box I could sense a bit of a theme. This months box contains holistic and healthy ways to keep your oral health on top. They say that the beautiful weather has everyone smiling, but that we might not realize how important oral health is for keeping our teeth white and bright.
Pur Gum Peppermint–This gum is naturally sweetened, gluten-free, nut-free, vegan-friendly and diabetic friendly. I like that this bag has 57 pieces and is resealable. It’s still not often that I chew gum, but I will throw this into my purse. I’m still working on getting out of my snacking habit so perhaps I can start chewing more gum!
Pur Mints Tangerine Tango–This is the same brand as the gum and is vegan, non-gmo, gluten free, and nut and soy free. They also come in a resealable bag. As I’m writing this post I have already eaten three, so apparently I have about as many complaints as I do restraint. The flavor is good and these would be great to carry around as well!
Dessert Essence Mouthwash–This mouthwash combines a spearmint flavor and tea tree oil, which has antiseptic properties. It refreshens and cleans your mouth and gums in seconds. This is sugar free and alcohol free, which I’m excited about because I HATE that burning feel I get from others! This has a nice minty scent, which I really do love in my oral health products. This also contains chamomile, sage and aloe to help soothe the gums. The only thing I wish with this is that they made it easy to measure out the recommended 1/2 oz.
Earthpaste Toothpate–This is an all natural toothpaste with no chemicals or additives. It’s powerful enough to clean, freshen and protect your teeth. I was a bit concerned about the “from the earth” factor of this toothpaste. They explain on this box that all ingredients are from the earth, there are no additives. It won’t be what you’re used to because it’s completely natural in taste and in color. It has a nice mint scent and is a bit of an off-white color. It also seems to be pretty thick. Normally we are a Colgate family, but I’m willing to give this a try.
Dr. Tung’s Tongue Cleaner–This is a stainless steel tool that will remove all soft plaque and bacteria off your tongue. Doing this will help freshen your breath and improve taste. This tool should last for years. This is actually 5 times more effective than brushing your tongue. And hey bonus, it comes with a travel pouch so you can keep it safe! I’ve heard about tongue cleaners before but have never even considered buying one before. Now that I have it though, I’m actually thinking this would make sense to use. This is why I love boxes like this!
Jax Coco Coconut Oil–They say if you swish 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil in your mouth for up to 20 minutes it will help naturally whiten your teeth and help detoxify your gums. This is a very small sample and would maybe give you one time. I don’t see myself doing this because I don’t like the flavor of coconut and I’m not nearly patient enough for a process like this.
Preserve Toothbrush–This is an eco-friendly toothbrush with a unique design. The handle is easy to grip and curved with a gentle bristle. This actually feels pretty nice to hold and I can understand the purpose of the 45 degree angle. It’s probably time for me to replace my current toothbrush, so here I go!
I’ll admit, I am pretty bad when it comes to my oral care. I brush my teeth, but that’s about it. I suck at flossing and rarely use mouthwash since it burns so much. I also can’t remember the last time I went to the dentist. I’m pretty sure it was when I had my wisdom teeth out about 8 years ago. Yikes.
I like that this box got me thinking about my oral health and really covered all the bases. Gum, mints, toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash. They probably would have also included floss if there was something natural and holistic about that. I was a bit disappointed at first that there wasn’t any snack type items in here (gum and mints don’t count) but I do feel like this was a great box and they did really well with following the theme.
