Ipsy (referral link) is a monthly beauty subscription. Each month subscribers receive a Glam Bag that has a combination of 4-5 deluxe samples and full size products. The cost is $10 a month with $4.95 shipping to Canada.
They currently have a wait list but there are different ways to ‘skip’ it. If you chose to wait it can take anywhere from 1-3 months (from what I hear). They also sometimes have a ‘skip the wait list’ day.
Usually around the 12th of the month you have the option of viewing your “Glam Room” which shows the items that you will be receiving. There are usually about 20 different items and the ones you receive are determined by a survey you fill out when you sign up. You can also collect ipsy points by doing reviews, which you can later redeem for bonus items.
I’m really liking this months bag! It’s always the bright and vibrant colors that get me the most. It also makes sense to go with a floral theme for March, which kicks off the Spring weather and flowers blooming.
Lashem 3 in 1 Eye Bright–This product helps diminish dark circles and fine lines, smooths the appearance of wrinkles, and hydrates, nourishes and conditions delicate eye-area skin. A potent triple-action formula helps fight the key signs of aging and fatigue. The area are your eye will feel smooth, strong, hydrated and more youthful. I’ve been using this for about a week now and I haven’t seen or felt any results, I feel like this is one of those things you need to use long term to really notice. Or maybe the not noticing is the point? Either way, it goes on easy and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Illuminating Face Highlighter by Jessica Liebeskind–This highlighter illuminates the skin for a diamond-pink glow. It easily layers over powders and creams, works well on all skin types, and perfectly compliments pink and pink-coral blush shades. You just apply it to the apples of your cheeks and cheek bones after applying blush. You can also dust it lightly over hydrated skin on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. The color didn’t really pick up the best but it’s actually a lighter pink. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to use it, it is a great shade though.
Boo-Boo Cover-Up–This cover-up can be used anywhere on your face or body. It offers great coverage and contains ingredients known in nature to promote healing. I have a bit of a scar on my face and tried to use this on it. I was a bit worried at first by how dark the product was, but it blended in really well and did a great job at covering up the spot. I would love to see this do some healing over time as well! I think this will also last quite awhile as you only need a very small amount.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion–This lotion is oil-free and formulated with apple stem cells to help delay the natural signs of aging by maintaining the longevity and activity of stem cells in the skin. The retinol also stimulates new cell turnover and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve been using this on my face and have been really liking it. Again, I’m not really going to know if this helps with anti-aging yet, but it does make my skin look nice. It’s not at all greasy, and I think it actually helps my normally oily areas a bit less oily.
NYX Butter Lipstick–This is a long-wearing lipstick with a delicate texture of satin fused with high color saturation. There were three different colors sent out this month, and this was the color I was most hoping to get. The picture makes this look more pink, but it’s actually quite a deep purple. I expected more of a plum color when I applied it but it actually went on as more of a deep pink. I’ve had lip products from this brand before and have always been really pleased. They go on smooth and are very nourishing. This is my favorite item this month, I’m extremely happy with it.
I was so ready to cancel Ipsy there for awhile, but I’m really starting to be glad that I didn’t. I think the variety of items has gotten better, and it actually feels more tailored towards me. I will use every product in here (eventually) and so this was definitely a good month! Probably the best month yet!
