Harmony Box August 2015

*Please note, this company is no longer in operation

Harmony Box is a Canadian yoga and wellness box. Every month you will received 4-6 uniquely Canadian yoga and wellness products. Each box is guaranteed to have a value of at least $50. Products can range from yoga apparel, yoga props, healthy snacks, skin and beauty products, candles, jewelry and so on. A one month subscription costs $49.95 a month, plus $8 shipping. If you pay for 3 or 6 months in advance, that price does go down. There is also a mini box that costs $29.95 a month. They do not currently ship outside of Canada.

Disclaimer–I received this box free for review purposes but all thoughts are my own and I was not further compensated.

Every item you receive in this box will be Canadian made, 100% Vegetarian, socially responsible, have no animal testing done, and they will enhance your healthy lifestyle.

I was super excited to find out about this box because there aren’t a huge number of wellness boxes, especially in the Canadian market! While I’ve never done yoga, I have definitely gotten be more into wellness and other forms of fitness. I’m currently enrolled in an Aerial Hammock class and have been considering trying yoga next.

I believe that May was the first Harmony Box so they are still fairly new. I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what they had sent for August!

First Look

As is typical with most boxes, I was happy with the first look! It was nicely packaged and wrapped, and I love the bright purple tissue paper!

The Goods

Mother Earth Reusables–Embroidered Organic Cotton Sandwich/Snack Bag ($12)–This thick organic cotton snack bag is a perfect plastic free alternative to take with you to yoga class or work! You can adjust the size of the bag by folding the bag over and attaching the flap to the button on the back for smaller snacks. To clean, you can either machine wash or put in the top rack of your dishwasher! I love that this can be cleaned in the washing machine or dishwasher. On the downside, we run our dishwasher about once a week, so I’m not sure how many days a week I would actually use this. I definitely do plan on using this though. It’s a great size, and I like that it can go bigger or smaller depending on my needs.

R Devine Skin Care Hibiscus Facial Exfoliant + Mask & Lip Balm ($25)–Use this exfoliator after those sweaty yoga sessions to cleanse your skin! You can even use this as a mask by keeping it on for 10 minutes for some extra pampering. The lip balm is great to take with you on the go when you need a little extra moisture and nourishment! I can never have too many lip balms, that is just a fact. This one seems to do a good job, it leaves my lips soft and not at all greasy. I haven’t used the other product as a mask yet, but did use it as an exfoliant. I wouldn’t say that it did anything different than others, but it’s great that it’s more natural!

New Moon Kitchen Chocolate Chip Cookies ($6.30)–These cookies are not only delicious but are totally natural! 100% Organic Spelt Flour, Dairy & Egg free, Peanut & Nut free, no preservatives, vegan, trans-fat free, and kosher pareve. A guit free treat to enjoy after your yoga practice! I was excited to try these, but then I looked at the ingredients. I realized that there are oats in the cookies. I’ve never been a fan of oats in cookies, but they also seem to aggravate my stomach when I have anything with them. Unfortunately, I won’t be eating these.

Om Designs by JZ Handmade Yoga/Pilates Mat Bag ($38)–Perfect for toting your mat to and from class! This handmade bag is made from upcycled vintage sari fabric from India and includes a drawstring closure. Fits most 24 inch wide yoga mats. Hand wash in cold water, air dry, iron low heat only. I do already have a yoga mat bag, but I love this! It fits my mat perfect, and it’s really neat that the bag is made from a sari. I took a look at the etsy shop and there are a few scarves that I’m definitely tempted to buy!

I’m thinking that this is a bonus item as it wasn’t on the card. I really like that they don’t count this towards the total value of the box. I’ve been applying this at night, and while I don’t feel an immediate result, it does feel nice!

Final Thoughts

This box cost $49.95 and had a total value of $81.30. As I stated at the beginning, they say that products can range from yoga apparel, yoga props, healthy snacks, skin and beauty products, candles, jewelry and so on. Every item included in this box fit right into those categories. They are all from Canadian companies and can help better yourself. I’m disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the cookies, but that is not the fault of this company. This is definitely a great box for anyone who is health conscious and wants a treat each month that helps them celebrate themselves.

This box doesn’t actually ship out until the 15th, so if you like what you see, go and order!

  • I love the yoga bag! I should have bought me one when I bought yours in January! Looks like a good box, I wish the Canadian boxes would give some coupon codes….
