The cost of a subscription is $39.95 if paid on a monthly basis, but you can also prepay for a 3 or 6 month subscription at a cost of $113 and $209, respectively. Along with the monthly box, the website also features all sorts of products to satisfy your grilling needs. Shipping is always free on any order over $35, and that includes the monthly subscription.
*I received this box free for review purposes but all opinions are my own*
This is the second Griller’s Paradise box I have received and I was so excited to dig in! It has snowed here now, and temperatures are getting chilly, but it’s never the wrong time to get a box like this! And as a reward if you can make it to the end, you get a coupon code!
I enjoy the presentation of the box, they have their logo on the outside so you know which box you’re getting, and everything is nicely packaged and kept safe inside.
Chimichurri Blend–This blend is usually used to season grilled meat, or you can use it as a marinade, finishing sauce or salad dressing. You just need to moisten with warm water, just enough to hydrate the herbs, and allow it to sit for five minutes. You then add olive oil to obtain the desired consistency and you can even add some lemon juice. I didn’t get a chance to use this one, but I hope to soon. It sounds interesting!
Road Kill Grill Seasonings–“This is not just for back road mishaps, but it can make all critters taste great.” They advise using it on steaks, chops, ribs or chicken. I definitely laughed as soon as I saw this one. As curious as I am to find a muskrat on a back road to see if the claims are true, I decided to stick to pork. You didn’t need much out of the container and it really did taste good! It was quite a strong taste so I could see it getting rid of some nasty meat taste.
Fowl Stuff Poultry Rub–This rub is great for all birds and consists of a blend of spices, salt, sugar and garlic powder. I was planning on using this on chicken, but that just didn’t end up happening yet unfortunately. This does have quite a strong scent so I’m curious to see how it tastes!
Beer Can Chicken–This is a rub to use with beer can chicken. We haven’t had a chance to use this yet since we don’t have cans of beer, or a stand for the chicken. Perhaps this will have to happen after I do some Christmas shopping for someone..
Savory Sea Salt–This is made in Nova Scotia and is gluten free and has no msg. It combines Summer Savory with large grains of sea salt and pieces of onion and garlic. They included a print out for this item, which I thought was neat. It explained that Summer Savory is a traditional herb choice for Maritime Families. I can see Ian using this, but I don’t know if I will. I’m okay with small amounts of onion powder on things, but I think the pieces of onion is just going to be a bit too much for me.
Steak & Chop Marinade–This is a “beerbeque” marinade. You mix in your favorite beer to make a unique flavor to marinade and tenderize your meat chops and chicken. You mix half of the seasoning packet with 1/2 cup of your favorite beer. You place the meat in a glass container and coat with marinade, and refrigerate covered for at least 30 minutes. First, this container is awesome. It’s totally suiting to have a beer mug looking container for this. With everything I’ve been hearing about beer and BBQing, it only made sense to try this. I loathe beer so I was a bit uneasy about this. It was AMAZING. Ian mixed this with Stella Artois (STEEEELLLLAAA..sorry, I had to) and it was pretty dang amazing. You get two uses out of this for about $10 and I would definitely buy this again. It helped that the steak was good to begin with, but this is some freaking amazing marinade!
I love this subscription. It’s fun to mix things up with my usual go-to seasonings and marinades. I’ve loved using some of the spices from my last box, and know I’ll feel the same about these ones.
Now, Grillers’ Paradise was nice enough to offer a coupon for my readers! Use code “AA2015” to receive $4.95 off either a one, three or six month subscription. The best part is that you will still qualify for free shipping if you use that code!
I highly recommend this box. The shipping is quick and it’s fun to try new products. And you do realize that Christmas is coming up soon, right? This is such a great Christmas gift idea for anyone who likes to cook or BBQ on a regular basis. I know a few people who would probably like to receive it! The nice thing is that you can gift more than just one month of it so Christmas can continue for a few months!
